  • Slid or avoid

The 13u program is designed to teach players the 90 foot diamond while building strength and confidence. Players develop into more permanent positions while developing a secondary position. Pitching is also still taught to all players so they are mechanically sound on the mound.

What are the major differences between this and Little League?

  • The field:
    • The playing field is 50/70 compared to LL 46/60
    • The pitchers mound is at 50′ vs. 46′ in LL
    • The bases are 70′ apart vs. 60′ in LL
  • Open Bases:
    • This is not station to station baseball!
    • Straight steals, pickoffs and balks are allowed

If your player plans to play Middle School & High School Baseball, then his first experience with open bases shouldn’t be at the tryouts. The 50/70 field makes for an easier progression to the big diamond in Middle School.

Weekday practices and weekend games, typically double headers. Many home, some away with a possible tournament

10 and Under (10U)

The 10u program introduces leading, stealing, pickoffs and sliding back into bases safely. This is the start to learning MLB rules and getting used to an older game. The mound stays at 46 feet so you still get good crisp pitching while they are learning to pitch from the windup with no one one and the stretch with runners on base. Baserunners will be leading, stealing and sliding back for the first time.
