Welcome to the home of Monarchs Baseball & Softball.
The Middletown Monarchs program was formed in 2015 by Matt Quinn and Mike Czerwonka. The Monarchs were formed- to give Middletown baseball players the opportunity to play at a more competitive level at a lower cost. The program started with 10u and 12u teams. The 10u team was coached by Matt Quinn and Andy Prestash while the 12u team was coached by Scott Noska and Greg Brooks. Early success and hard work saw the Monarchs compete in the East Shore Travel League. Both teams were very successful winning their divisions.
In 2018, Tim D’Aquila and Jim Lane took over the Monarchs program. Under Jim and Tim the Monarchs grew from two teams to a total of seven baseball and five softball. The Monarchs baseball team plays mainly in East Shore but also play many non league games. The Monarchs softball teams play both a league and tournament schedule. Jen Lane (Head Coach Wesleyan University) runs the Monarchs softball program. Most years the Monarchs programs play the most games in the state at every level.
The Monarchs are the host to the Spring Thaw Baseball Tournament in Late March early April which is one of the first youth tournaments to be played in the state every year. The tournament has grown from one age division to 9u through Middle School and between 55 and 60 total teams, and 12 fields all in Middletown.
The Monarchs start inside in January and run through the middle of June for the youth programs, the older programs run until the middle of July. After summer is over the Monarchs run a fall program that works around other youth sports programs. We want well rounded athletes that play other sports and still want to keep up their skills in baseball.
Please read our Note to Parents and lets all work together to make playing for the Middletown Monarchs fun for everyone!
