A Note To Parents

Parents are not just parents in the program. They are the reason why these kids play for the Monarchs. The Monarchs organization is not just an organization it is truly a family. Even family members forget that these are just kids playing a sport they love. Let them enjoy it! Let them like it! Encourage them to love it! Remember we all want the same thing so yelling the phrases below doesn’t help.

  • Don’t yell “Just throw a strike”.  They are trying.
  • Don’t yell “ Swing” or “what are you swinging at”. They are trying.
  • Don’t yell “Run, Go, Back, or anything else the coach might say” it is confusing and harder to coach when you do that.
  • Baseball/Softball is a very hard game.  Players are getting paid $300 Million to play and still strikeout, still make errors and still are not perfect.  Your son/daughter is not making $300 million and is not perfect, they will make mistakes.
  • Every coach has a different style and just because a coach yells doesn’t mean he/she thinks any differently about your child.
  • Winning is secondary in this program. Your team will win when everyone works hard and gets better as a team.
  • There is nothing wrong with losing.  What they will learn will make them better.
  • CHEER your child on, Enjoy the Sun, Enjoy the other parents, Support each other and let the kids have fun.  Treat 0-4 the same as 4-4, treat a perfect game the same as not being able to throw a strike. Bring them to practice and the games and make sure they enjoy both.
